New EPF rules: EPFO relaxes the obligation to upload the image of the cheque and the certified bank book for these cases
All required documentation must be submitted accurately to avoid delays. To access Form 10 D online, qualified individuals must ensure that a valid Form 10 D is available. electronic nominationthat your account is KYC compliantand that the universal account number (UAN) contains the correct information.
Type of Pension Requested – Please indicate any of the following
a) Retirement pension: For the member upon reaching 58 years of age, whether or not he or she is in service.
b) Reduced Pension For members over 50 years of age but under 58 years of age and who have left the service
c) Disability pension: For the member upon leaving service due to total and permanent disability.
d) Widow’s and children’s pension: Per family (spouse and children) upon the death of the member.
e) Orphan’s pension: For the surviving son/daughter (up to 25 years of age at the date of death of the member/spouse, whichever occurs later) in the event of death or remarriage of the deceased member.
f) Nominated pension: Per nominee declared by the member through his Form 2(R) in case the member does not have a family (spouse and children).
g) Dependent father or mother: For the dependent father and mother of the deceased member who died without family (spouse and children) and did not designate a person for pension.
Who can claim EPF pension?
The applicant must mention in this field any of the following:
- Member
- Widow/Widower
- Elderly/Orphan
- Guardian
- Candidate
- Dependent father
EPF Members: List of documents to be attached to Form 10D
Birth certificate of all the family members, Aadhaar, 3 certified passport size photographs of the spouses together should be submitted. Bank passbook along with cheque with the name of the member printed on it should be certified for offline submission along with other documents.
EPF: How to apply for pension in Form 10D online
Step 1: Visit www.epfindia.gov.in
Step 2: Under Services, click Employees
Step 3: Scroll down and click on online service
Step 4: Login to the Unified Member and Seva portal by entering UAN and password
Step 5: Click on “online service” and click on Form 10 D from the options.
Step 6: Verify your bank account
Step 7: Check the box to accept the Terms and Conditions.
Step 8: Proceed to make the claim online
Step 9: Check the details of the family members, such as name.
Step 10: Click choose file to upload the notebook with your name printed on it
Step 11: Verify the uploaded details and click on Get OTP on your registered Aadhaar number.
Step 12: Enter the received OTP to submit the form.
