The press release said that advanced technology will be used to verify the identity of candidates and ensure transparency in the examination process. Comprehensive measures have been put in place for thorough screening, frisking and monitoring of candidates at each examination centre, the press release said.
“Access to the centre will be granted only after candidates undergo physical pat-down, security checks using hand-held metal detectors (HHMD) and biometric verification, which includes fingerprints and facial recognition. In cases where facial recognition is not possible, arrangements have been made to capture data from FRIS (Facial Image Recognition System). If there is any doubt regarding facial recognition, Aadhaar authentication will be done to confirm the identity of the candidate,” the press release said.

Examination halls and centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras and live feeds will be sent to the control rooms at the centre, district and Recruitment Board headquarters to ensure continuous monitoring and security,” he added.
In addition, static magistrates, with the presence of officers ranging from Deputy Commissioners of Police to Sub-Inspectors, depending on the number of candidates, have been posted at each examination centre to act as supervisors of the centre. In addition, intensive surveillance through CCTV cameras will be carried out and all candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centres only after undergoing biometric verification.
Rajeev Krishna, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, said extensive arrangements have been made for the upcoming police recruitment exam in line with the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
“At the district level, district magistrates will act as district supervisors, overseeing administrative duties at each examination centre, including deployment of sector magistrates and static magistrates. Each examination centre will have one assistant centre supervisor in addition to one static magistrate. The additional district magistrate will act as assistant nodal officer (Administration), and the sector magistrates will be posted at three examination centres,” he stressed while sharing details of the security arrangements.
“To prevent cheating and ensure a smooth process, there will be mobile teams on duty. The centres will be supervised by officers ranging from deputy police chiefs to sub-inspectors,” he added.
To maintain the integrity of the examinations, 50 per cent of the staff at each centre have been appointed by the district magistrate, while the remaining 50 per cent have been selected by the centre manager (principal). Examination assistants will be appointed by both the district magistrate and the centre manager, and one invigilator will be assigned for every 12 candidates and additional assistant invigilators will be provided as required.
The exam was earlier held in four shifts on February 17 and 18, 2024, but was cancelled by the state government on February 24 due to a question paper leak. The fresh exam was ordered to be held within six months, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of fairness and transparency. 178 FIRs were registered in 41 districts of UP in connection with the question paper leak in February. At least 400 people, including two alleged masterminds, Rajiv Nayan Mishra and Ravi Attri, were arrested in Gautambuddhnagar.
