A total of 60,244 posts of Constables will be filled up in the Uttar Pradesh Police under this recruitment drive. The examinations will be held on August 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 at 1,176 centres in 67 districts.
Each day, the exam is divided into two shifts: one from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the night shift from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Over 48 lakh candidates from 28 states and eight Union Territories have applied for the written re-examination, officials said earlier.
Strict security measures
The Uttar Pradesh government has put in place a comprehensive plan to conduct the exam safely, which includes biometric verification of candidates, both through fingerprints and facial recognition, along with other key measures.
Earlier, a press release claimed that “advanced technology” was being used to verify the identity of all candidates to ensure transparency.
In addition to this, comprehensive measures were put in place on Friday to carry out thorough screening, frisking and monitoring of candidates at all examination centres.

From the capital city of Lucknow to Prayagraj, Kanpur, Noida and Kaushambi, key security checks have been put in place at most of the exam centres.
“In Lucknow, around 80,000 candidates will appear for the police constable recruitment exam at 81 examination centres. Adequate arrangements have been made for security and facilities,” Raveena Tyagi, director of central police, Lucknow, told PTI.
He said that official officers, as well as RAF and PAC teams, have been deployed for security purposes. City and inter-district buses have been provided to facilitate the movement of candidates.
Amit Verma, law and order officer at Lucknow JCP, said, “Police and officials are keeping an eye on all the halls and main gates of the examination centre from the main control room. Data from various services are also being recorded to prevent any cheating.”
Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar said the Friday exam was being conducted peacefully at all centres.
“There is no information from anywhere to suggest that the questionnaire has been leaked. Action will be taken against those spreading rumours,” he said.
