During the conversation, Rakul debunked some common misconceptions about strength training, particularly for women. When asked about a workout myth she wanted to debunk, Rakul shared the importance of strength training for women, clarifying that it does not lead to bulky muscles as is often feared.
“Strength training is very important. Women think that strength training will give them big muscles, but that’s not true because we don’t have as much testosterone in our bodies,” she said.
“We need lean muscles. As we age, after 35 or 40, our muscle mass decreases every year. This is necessary to have healthy bones, structure and posture. So please train strength.”
Why is strength training essential for women? Strength training has gained popularity in recent years, but many women are still hesitant to incorporate it into their workout routines due to myths about getting bulky.
