Aparshakti Khurana, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release Stree 2, said that he and his elder brother and actor Ayushmann Khurrana have been waiting for a long time to collaborate on a film and the next project in Maddock Films’ hit horror-comedy universe is the perfect opportunity. While the actor reprised his role as Bittu in Stree 2 recently, Ayushmann will reportedly play a vampire in Thama, earlier titled Vampires of Vijay Nagar.
Both films are part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s ambitious film franchise, which also features Bhediya and Munjya. “We have been waiting for a long time to work together on something good and what can be better than a world that has been created? Something that has never happened in Indian cinema, where there is this world where so many great characters come together and stay in people’s hearts. There is something very special that is coming very soon,” Aparshakti told PTI.
The Jubilee star said that Ayushmann’s choice for the horror-comedy universe was a coincidence. “We didn’t go to the producers to ask them to take us together in a film. We had finished shooting Stree 2 and this new film came up after that. So, all these characters will meet, and when that happens, will we be shown as brothers or not? What will happen? There are a lot of questions,” he quipped.
Aparshakti, who will next be seen in ZEE5’s spy drama Berlin, also said that he is in talks to reunite with his Jubilee director Vikramaditya Motwane for a few projects. On the other hand, Ayushmann also has a few big projects in his line-up, including Border 2 starring Sunny Deol, which is currently in the pre-production stage.
She will also be seen in the Anubhuti Kashyap-directed film on Sunday alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Angira Dhar. She will reportedly star in the biopic of former Indian cricketer and captain Sourav Ganguly.
