As the average income of people across the world has increased, so has their purchasing power. Online shopping is working to boost this power. Online shopping has not only made shopping easier but has also encouraged it. Apparel and footwear brand Public Desire conducted a survey on the apparel market, its prices and buying habits. This survey found that an average Indian spends around Rs 2 lakh a year on buying clothes alone. Women are at the forefront of these shoppers.
Despite buying so much clothes and having a closet full of clothes, hearing a woman say ‘I have no clothes’. What should I wear? It’s very common. But, when you’re spending a good part of your income on buying clothes, why don’t you have clothes to wear on a special occasion? The truth is that you don’t lack clothes. The problem is related to proper shopping and maintenance. And this is a problem that you can get rid of with a little effort. What to do to never have to cry about not having clothes, let us know:
buy wisely
I went to the mall for shopping. I saw the discount board of my favourite brand and bought a lot of kurtas. But, while buying those kurtas, did you think whether they had their lowest matching or not? Shirt, T-shirt, skirt or kurta – whatever you want, before paying the bill think whether you already have matching clothes to pair it with or not. If this doesn’t happen, then the chance of wearing that dress will be very less or you will have to buy separate pants to wear it. If you shop mindfully, you will be able to flaunt the purchased clothes with passion.
Why chase trends?
When the bell bottom trend came, I bought it. When the crop top trend started, they were bought in different colors. When a particular style of dress became popular, I bought it. Most people who complain that they have nothing to wear are actually shoppers looking for clothes. There is nothing wrong with embracing trends. But filling your wardrobe with trendy clothes will not help. First of all, invest in good quality basic clothes. From shoes to a white t-shirt. When you have basic clothes and accessories, styling trendy clothes will also become easy for you and you will never be short of clothes.
stop buying similar clothes
We all have some weird habits related to clothes. If I liked a pattern, I would buy a lot of clothes of different colors with that pattern. Be it a checked print shirt or an off-shoulder top. But what is the point of filling your closet with a lot of clothes of the same print? By doing this, your lack of clothes will not disappear. Keep clothes with similar patterns in one place in your wardrobe. This will let you know how many clothes of one type you have and you will be alert before buying something similar in the future.
It’s not good to have too many options.
Just as having fewer options raises the question of what to wear, the same problem arises from having too many options. When your closet is full of clothes, you have no choice but to stand in front of it and stare at the pile of clothes. As quickly as you buy clothes, also remove from your closet those clothes that you haven’t worn in a long time. Or throw out from your closet those items that don’t match your current style. When you have a balanced amount of clothes in your wardrobe, you’ll have the opportunity to be more creative with them and experiment with new things.
