Surat-based health food brand Alpino has roped in Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty as a brand ambassador and key investor.
In addition to this, the startup featured on Shark Tank India also raised $1.2 million in its first round. funds round from prominent investors such as Paresh Ghelani and angel investors from Aashar Capital.
What does Alpino do?
Founded in 2016 by six friends (Chetan Kanani, Hiren Sheta, Umesh Gajera, Priyank Vora, Milan Gopani and Mahatva Sheta), Alpino has distinguished itself with its innovative use of peanuts to create a variety of healthy products.
The startup offers high-protein products, including peanut butter, super-cooked oats and super muesli.
“I have always believed in living a balanced life, staying healthy but not stressing too much about it. Alpino embodies this philosophy perfectly; they really make eating healthy fun. Their natural peanut butter has been a staple in my home; my kids love it too. It is a brand I have come to trust and enjoy, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of Alpino, it seemed like a natural choice, as did their products,” said Shetty.

Alpino’s return after setbacks
Alpino has faced challenges, including a fire at its Surat warehouse last year, which temporarily halted operations and resulted in losses of over Rs 2 crore.
However, the startup recovered with the launch of “Alpino 2.0”, achieving record revenues.
Alpino plans to expand its presence both offline and internationally. The brand is currently available in over 6,000 retail outlets across India, including chains such as Reliance and Godrej’s Nature’s Basket, and in over 10 countries across the world.
It is planned to introduce more than 20 new products in the next two years.
