Fraudulent tactics
Tempting offers: Scammers often use fake RBI letterheads and email addresses to lure victims with promises of lottery prizes, fund transfers or government schemes.

RBI Clarification
He Reserve Bank of India has made it clear that it does not maintain accounts in the name of individuals or legal entities, nor does it request deposits or open accounts in their name.
The central bank also does not send emails or messages about lottery winnings or disbursements of funds.
Public notice
The RBI is warning the public to be wary of calls, emails or other communications from persons impersonating RBI officials.
You should not share personal information, account details or copies of KYC documents with unidentified persons or through unverified websites and applications.
Instead, they should contact their bank directly if they receive such requests.
The RBI also urges the public to check the list of entities regulated by the bank on its official website to avoid falling prey to fake accreditations.
Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to law enforcement authorities.
