The Rampur Jugalbandi series is a limited edition release with an alcohol strength of 100%. Jugalbandi #5 and Jugalbandi #6 will be released in the UK, US, EU, Singapore and Global Travel Retail from October 2024. Jugalbandi means “intertwined twins” and refers to a duo of two solo musicians and instruments, taking over the stage together. The essence of the ancient art form has been captured in the Rampur Jugalbandi single malts, as the two casks used in each expression complement both single malts, according to Radico Khatian.
Jugalbandi #5 is first matured in American bourbon casks and then in Tokaji wine casks, acquiring its classic Rampur single malt whisky characteristics in the North Indian climate. The combination of casks infuses floral and fruity notes from the American bourbon casks and creamy, honeyed notes from the Tokaji casks. The nose offers nuances of caramel, toasted almond and gingerbread and the palate offers a creamy texture with layers of honey, caramel, vanilla and chocolate.

Jugalbandi #6 is matured in Madeira casks in the North Indian climate to achieve the classic characteristics of Rampur single malt whiskies. The casks give the whisky a floral and citrus note, intertwined with a mix of fruit and hints of caramelized pineapple and apricot.
Anup Barik, Master Distiller at Rampur Distillery, said in a press release: “I am proud to have created these latest limited editions of the Jugalbandi series, using the highest quality Madeira and Tokaji casks, but retaining, at its core, our classic Rampur single malt whisky profile. We look forward to introducing these two new expressions at The Whisky Show in London.”
Sanjeev Banga, President, International Business, Radico Khaitan, said, “India has a mystical air about it and our vision is to share the best that India has to offer with the world in the spirits space. Our innovative products are being embraced across the globe and exemplify the rich heritage and exceptional craftsmanship that we practice at the Rampur Distillery. We are excited to share Rampur Jugalbandi #5 and #6 with whisky aficionados at The Whisky Show.”
