Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), who is already the richest person in the world with a net worth of Almost 242 billion dollarsis on track to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a Informa Connect Academy Report.
The report is based on the average annual growth rate of these billionaires’ wealth.
Gautam Adani to become India’s first billionaire
After Musk, Indian billionaire Gautam Adani is expected to become the world’s second trillionaire by 2028, with a highest annual growth rate of 122.86%.
Notably, Adani’s rapid rise will outstrip that of fellow Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, who, despite currently being India’s richest person, is projected to reach trillionaire status much later, in 2033.
Ambani’s slower growth rate of 28.25% puts him eighth on the list, behind other billionaires like Jensen Huang (2028), Prajogo Pangestu (2028), Bernard Arnault and family (2030), Mark Zuckerberg (2030) and Phil Knight and family (2030).
Who else could become a billionaire?
The list also mentions 20 other billionaires who are projected to reach trillionaire status in the coming years.
Some of them are Michael Dell (2033), Steve Ballmer (2034), Larry Ellison (2035), Jeff Bezos (2036), Larry Page (2036), Sergey Brin (2036), Zhang Yiming (2037), Francoise Bettencourt Meyers and family (2040), Michael Bloomberg (2041), Warren Buffett (2042), Amancio Ortega (2043), David Thomson and family (2043), Carlos Slim Helu and family (2046), Jim Walton and family (2046), Rob Walton and family (2047), Giovanni Ferrero (2047), Tadashi Yanai and family (2048), Julia Koch and family (2050), Alice Walton (2051), Bill Gates (2054).
The United States will have the largest number of billionaires
The report says the United States is on track to lead the world in wealth accumulation, with 17 of the world’s 28 billionaires expected to become trillionaires in the country.
India and France follow, each with two billionaires who are projected to reach trillionaire status.
Meanwhile, countries such as China, Indonesia, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Italy and Japan are projected to each have a trillionaire in the future.
