Nagarjuna gets relief; High Court issues interim stay order on N Convention demolition
Tollywood actor Nagarjuna Saturday was a mixed day. Earlier in the day, the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) officials carried out a demolition drive at the N Convention Hall, which belongs to Nagarjuna. The protesters were accused that the convention centre was built by encroaching on the full tank level (FTL) of around 3.30 to 3.40 acres of the Thammidi Kunta lake. The FTL area of Thammidi Kunta is 29.24 acres. It has been reported that the N-Convention Centre has encroached on 1.12 acres of the FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the buffer zone, as per reports.
High Court grants relief to Nagarjuna
Nagarjuna moved the Telangana High Court challenging the sudden demolition drive by HYDRAA officials. Immediately, a House motion was moved before the Hon’ble High Court. The matter was taken up virtually at around 1:00 pm. After hearing the arguments, the Court ordered to maintain the status quo in the case. The judge, who presided over the hearing in the Telangana High Court, granted interim relief to Nagarjuna. He had asked the authorities to stop the demolition activities.
The court published the matter after two weeks
A statement from Nagarjuna’s team read: “The High Court has ordered a stay on the demolition of the structures owned by Nagarjuna, N-Convention. The actor moved the court for a stay and it was granted. Justice T. Vinod Kumar conducted the enquiry. The High Court has issued an interim order to stop the demolitions.” The court posted the matter two weeks later.
