As we all know, the entire country is seeking justice for a resident doctor who was brutally raped and murdered at RG Kar Hospital, Kolkata, during her working hours. Today, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan (August 19), Munawar wrote a moving poem in a post addressing women’s safety issues in India.

Munawar Faruqui took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote a poem explaining how women had to face the problems of society. Every woman expects her brother to protect her. However, the brutality against women makes them feel unsafe in the country.
In the poem, Munawar Faruqui wrote, “Apmaan se, bazaar se, Kaali raat se, toh dahej ki aag se, daman ke daag se, kisi anjaan se, toh chhre pe tazaab se. Brother, you have to protect him. #HappyRakhi.”
Munawar Faruqui’s post is now going viral on social media and netizens have started agreeing with his statement.
