Kolkata Police Notice for UGC-NET Aspirants

Calcutta: The city police has issued a notice for the candidates who will appear for the UGC-NET exam on August 27thThe examination is scheduled to be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in view of ‘Paschimbanga Chhatro Samaj’s’Nabanna Abhiyan” on the same day. Police said they would deploy sufficient personnel on the ground for the smooth conduct of the exam.
Police, in a post on X, said an organisation called ‘Paschimbanga Chhatro Samaj’ had called for a ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ on August 27, the day of the exam.
“On Tuesday, August 27, several candidates are scheduled to take the UGC-NET exam from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and again from 3 pm to 6 pm. An organisation calling itself ‘Paschimbanga Chhatro Samaj’ has called for a ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ on the same day,” it said.
“We have ensured adequate police presence on the roads so that no UGC-NET candidate faces any difficulties in reaching their examination centre,” he added.
Police said that in case of emergency, candidates can contact the nearest police officer or police station. “In case of emergency, candidates are requested to seek help from the nearest police personnel or contact the nearest police station,” it added.
NTA releases UGC-NET admit cards
The official website says, “Candidates are advised to download their UGC – NET June 2024 Examination Admit Card (using application number and date of birth) along with the undertaking from the website https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/wef on or before 17th August 2024 and follow the instructions contained therein.” Candidates will have to enter their application number and date of birth to download the admit card.
