Between September 2 and September 7, 2024, 23 startups from various sectors raised more than $235 million in funding from investors.
These sectors include D2C, Watertech, Sportstech, Ride-hailing, B2B, Fintech, Aviation, Healthcare, Traveltech and Cleantech, among others.
Last week, Indian startups raised more than $485 million in financingwith the Quick Commerce unicorn Zepto raises $340 million only.
Unlike M&A deals, which typically do not disclose financial information, these funding rounds offer insight into sectors that are increasingly attracting investor interest.
High value offers
A wide range of sectors attracted investments during the week, with the ride-sharing sector leading the way. The leading sector was Fastwhich raised $200 million in funding. Real estate technology startup JUSTO Realfintech raised $7 million in a mix of debt and equity.
The list was followed by D2C sports nutrition retailer NutrabayBackpacker hostel chain The innkeeperand chemical recycling and sustainability startup RecommerceX, which together raised $12.6 million.
Nutrabay raised $5 million, The Hosteller raised $4 million, and RecommerceX raised $3.6 million.
Startups
AI Start LiaPlus AI raised the least amount, securing $230,000 in a seed funding round. It was followed by apparel startup Disconnectwhich raised $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round, and a B2B financial management startup Valyxwhich raised $800,000 in a pre-seed funding round.
Mytek Innovationsan AI-based manufacturing and EPC marketplace, raised $710,000 in a debt round, while sports tech startup spolto Received $1 million in a seed funding round.
Water technology startup Boson Whitewater and fitness startup TruNativ Both raised $1.2 million in funding from Zerodha’s Rainmatter. Fashion startup Theater Following close behind, raising $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round were fabless semiconductor design startup BigEndian Semiconductors and educational fintech startup Invest4Edu Both raised $3 million in seed funding rounds, while the healthcare startup Global care It also raised $3 million in a Series A funding round.
Meanwhile, the D2C children’s underwear brand Plan BFleet management services startup Carrum, Cleantech startup ReCircle, Social media platform 0xPPLXolopak India and Nautical Wings Aerospace kept funding figures under wraps.
Mergers and Acquisitions Highlights
Hearzap, a 360 ONE-backed hearing care services provider, has acquired a majority stake in Speech and Hearing Care Pvt. Ltd., a well-known player in the Bihar and Jharkhand regions.
Yatra Online has acquired corporate travel specialist Globe All India Services (Globe Travels) for over $15 million.
