Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda joined the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad to pursue a BPGP MBA.
Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has joined the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad to pursue a postgraduate MBA programme for the next two years. However, soon after her announcement on social media on Sunday evening, critics of the star granddaughter claimed that her course is not even a “real MBA”. Several users even wondered if Nanda had secured admission in the institute through a “quota”.
Navya Nanda, 26, will be pursuing a Combined Postgraduate Programme (BPGP) at IIM Ahmedabad.
A professor from IIM Ahmedabad reached out to X on Monday to comment on the high-profile student and her admission.
“By the way, you have a strong CV. You don’t need to have a CAT. Anyway, kudos to all of you for being brave enough to enroll in a rigorous programme. PS: Like other students, I look forward to your posts complaining about the tough life at IIM-A,” said Promila Agarwal, Associate Professor at IIM-A and an active X user.
Navya Nanda, daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, described being selected for the course as a dream come true.
“Dreams do come true! The next 2 years…with the best people and professors. Blended Graduate Program (BPGP) Class of 2026,” she wrote on Instagram.
The first picture she shared showed her dressed in a black outfit. She also posted pictures of the lush green campus and the friends she seemed to have met there. Navya also posted a picture of herself cutting a cake on Instagram Stories, praising her teacher Prasad for helping her crack the CAT/IAT entrance exams.
What does Navya Nanda do?
Navya Nanda, a graduate in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University in the United States, is a social entrepreneur who runs a low-profile project called Project Naveli. She also runs part of her father’s family business.
