India’s largest airline, IndiGo, is taking steps towards inclusivity by introducing a gender-neutral option for passengers during the booking process. IndiGo will soon offer the honorific option “Mx” at the time of booking for passengers, providing an option for transgender people who do not want to identify themselves.
Air India Express and Vistara are already offering the ‘Mx’ option to passengers while booking tickets.
The airline also aims to double the number of employees with disabilities, further strengthening its commitment to inclusion.
IndiGo has also been consistently introducing innovative products and services to enhance passenger experience and consolidate its position in the market. Over the past year, the airline has made progress in several areas including:

- Women will be shown pink icons during online check-in indicating where other women are sitting.
- As a result, they can customize seat selection to avoid sitting next to a man. The feature is only visible to female passengers.
