There is no dearth of variety when we think of food in Delhi and we keep up with the same. Keeping up with the trend, Soy x Neung Roi at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport welcomed the unique combination of Japanese and Peruvian kitchen in an exclusive pop-up that saw Dubai’s leading Peruvian restaurant, ISSEI, bring its rich offerings and Nikkei cuisine To Delhi.
The pop-up was directed by the renowned PeruChef Luisa Serna, who studied gastronomy at renowned Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio Pachacutec’s school for three years, has prepared some of the most flavorful dishes from the Nikkei world and the flavors of Peru and Japan. For the uninitiated, Nikkei cuisine is a vibrant fusion that flourished in the late 19th century, born from the arrival of Japanese immigrants to Peru. As these newcomers introduced their culinary traditions, they began to harmonize with Peru’s rich abundance of fresh ingredients and its thriving fishing industry. The result is a cuisine that masterfully blends Japanese precision with the bold flavors of Peruvian food. Signature elements such as ceviche, Peru’s celebrated national dish, and the influence of Chifa, a dynamic blend of Chinese and Peruvian cuisine, add depth and character to this innovative culinary tradition.
The meal started with some amazing light bites. Plantain Chips, Sweet Potato Chips, Chulpi Corn Sea Salt, Shichinsi Togarashi, Marfon Sauce, followed by Akami Tana Ceviche Nikkei with some Tutsa Akami, Nikkei Leche De Tigrea along with Smoked Avocado with Tempura Fried Chicken, Seaweed Taco Tortilla, Teriyaki Sauce, Black Hiji and ISSEI Sauce Chilean Sea Bass Seco Norteño, Peruvian Chalakita What were some of the star dishes at ISSEI Dubai?
